The work on six-laning the Lucknow-Ayodhya-Gorakhpur highway will begin in March 2022, according to a report in the Hindustan newspaper. The operational 4-lane expressway connects the Capital City to Ayodhya and further to Eastern Uttar Pradesh, thereby enabling the smooth movement of people and goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The highway starts from Lucknow and passes through Barabanki, Ayodhya, Basti, Gonda, Sant Kabir Nagar and Gorakhpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The city of Ayodhya has become extremely important in the development roadmap of Uttar Pradesh, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserting that the temple town should manifest \u201cthe finest of our traditions and the best of our developmental transformations.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Modi described Ayodhya as a city that is etched in the cultural consciousness of every Indian and said the human ethos of this city must be matched by futuristic infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ayodhya is expected to attract millions of tourists every year, and good connectivity matched with world-class infrastructure will facilitate the growth and development of cities in and around it. Lucknow will occupy the centrestage in this development process with huge scope for real estate, service and manufacturing, agro-processing, warehouses etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Financial Express has also reported that the 341-km Purvanchal Expressway is expected to be flagged off in August 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
