Proximity to Healthcare Top Ranked Amenity for Potential Homebuyers: Survey

Omaxe townships have excellent access in Lucknow, New Chandigarh, Ludhiana, and Faridabad.

In a survey done by and Naredco, it was found that proximity to healthcare infrastructure is the top-ranked amenity for potential homebuyers.

“While pre-COVID homebuyers mainly focused on amenities such as furnishings, parking, power backup, amongst others, our survey indicates that healthcare infrastructure and recreational and open spaces are now taking precedence,” the survey said.

Omaxe has been developing mega townships and residential & commercial spaces for the last 33 years in several cities. The provision of new-age amenities for recreation and rejuvenation has always been an integral part of the company’s development. The company has always chosen micromarkets that are future growth centres with social infrastructure like schools and hospitals and good connectivity so as to ensure self-sustainable living and work-life balance.

In Lucknow, Omaxe’s township in Gomti Nagar extension has several hospitals in the vicinity like Mother and Child Care, Medanta and multispecialty Sahara Hospital. In the vicinity of Omaxe Metro City, a high tech township on Rae Bareli Road, the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences lies in the vicinity.

Similarly, in Ludhiana, the company’s inhabited township Omaxe Royal Residency on Pakhowal Road has in its vicinity hospitals like Bhalla hospital, Sohana hospital, Pancham hospital and DMC hospital within 20 min drive. Besides there are several nursing homes and pharmacies which in unison make homebuyers’ choice of homes in Royal Residency obvious.

In New Chandigarh, where the company is executing an integrated township, residents will have access to the proposed 358-acre Medicity, which is one of a kind healthcare destination in Punjab. This facility is located opposite Omaxe World Plaza, a commercial hub inside the township. Come Dec 2021, the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) Hospital in Medicity will commence operations. Besides, the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research in Chandigarh is located on Madhya Marg – the same road that goes to New Chandigarh and is a 10 min drive.

In Faridabad, the company is executing a commercial and residential township, Omaxe World Street in Sector 79 and Omaxe World Homes in Sector 97 respectively. The 2700 Bed AMMA hospital lies in the vicinity. The two townships have excellent connectivity with Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida and efforts are going by the government to strengthen it further to make this industrial town a centre of residential and commercial activities.

The survey, which was conducted between January and June 2021, also points to other positives. 40% think that the overall economic scenario will improve for the coming six months, 60 percent were confident about the income for the coming six months, 35% say they will resume home search in 3 months, 71% have reported that flexible payment and discounts will provide for the financial cushioning and 53 percent of homebuyers reported that they want to upgrade their home.

Housing sales have also recorded an increase in the Jan-June period. With total sales of 99,416 residential units in the first half of 2021 across top markets, housing sales recorded a rise of 67% YoY, according to a report by Knight Frank India.
